Work continues on King, from Union to Wellington, to accommodate the relocation and upgrading of underground utilities, such as watermain, stormwater and sanitary.

·         GrandLinq continues to progress with the initial  construction work which includes removing trees and brush from select areas, removing concrete and pavement from the roadway, and installing a temporary watermain.

·         On April 9, the Wellington and King intersection was closed to accommodate  the relocation and upgrading of underground services. The intersection will remained closed until approximately the end of next week. Local traffic heading North on King will be maintained through the closure.

·         In order to reduce speed in the area, starting early next week, stop signs will be placed at the following intersections: King and Green, King and the Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate Institute/Central Fresh Markets, and King and Agnes. Traffic lights will be decommissioned and covered up. We will monitor the traffic situation in the area.

·         Starting next week, to minimize disruption and ensure a continued water supply during construction, we will begin commissioning the temporary above-ground watermain in front of your house or business. This work, is not expected to cause any water disruptions. We expect to shut down the existing watermain on King West, between Union and Wellington, for a period of about four (4) months starting on or about Wednesday April 15 2015.

·         Once initial work has been completed, we will begin upgrading the underground water services, starting with the storm sewer.

·         Traffic is one directional going northbound from Wellington to Green. In front of Grand River Hospital from Union to Green, two-way traffic will be maintained.

·         Access to and from King West at the following intersections will be limited to emergency services, hospital patients, students, local residents and businesses only: Allen, John, Union, Mount Hope, Pine, Green, Andrew, Agnes, Louisa, Wellington, Moore and Victoria South.
