We want to remind our students and families that Wednesday, March 1st is a Blended Learning Day for secondary students.  Blended learning days allow students to engage in asynchronous and synchronous work from home while staff engage in professional learning during the asynchronous portion of the day.  During the morning of this day, school administration will engage staff in professional learning opportunities around instructional and assessment strategies that support destreaming and single streaming in secondary schools.

The remaining blended learning days this year are as follows: May 10, 2023.

During the mornings of these days (8:20 am to 10:55 am), learning is remote and asynchronous.  Attendance will be taken and students are expected to access their classes’ virtual learning environments (Google Classroom or D2L/Brightspace) and complete the work provided by their teachers for all of their courses.  Students should plan to spend approximately 37 minutes for each of their courses.

During the afternoons of these days (11:55 am to 2:30 pm), learning is remote and synchronous Attendance will be taken and students are expected to be available to virtually meet with their classes as described by their teachers following the schedule below.

  • Blended Learning Days are instructional days and attendance will be taken on these days; however, students are not required to attend in-person and will have learning provided remotely through their virtual learning environments (Google Classroom or Brightspace).
  • A supervised study space will be available in the morning for students who choose an in-person environment at school.
