Getting Around
- King, from Union to the u-turn at Wellington, has re-opened to two-way traffic. Work in the area will continue and will require intermittent lane closures. An additional road closure of three weeks will be needed this fall to install the LRT track near Green
- The closure at King/Wellington will be extended until approximately October 31 Access to the 607 King Plaza is maintained from Wellington to King. Delivery trucks needing access to King, north of the King/Wellington intersection, are detoured to Louisa and then directed to follow Moore to Wellington
On-going Construction
- Placement of the LRT track from Wellington to Union
- Installation of traffic signal conduits and communication duct banks, as well as infrastructure that will support the overhead catenary system that powers the train
- Installation of sidewalks, retaining walls and landscaping
- Upgrading and relocation of underground utilities (i.e., water, storm and sanitary) in the King/Wellington intersection
Night work
- On September 8, crews began working at night (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) until approximately September 30 on King, from Union to Wellington

- Fencing across the railway tracks (at King and Waterloo Streets) was installed in 2015 to close the area to pedestrians and cyclists
- On August 18, the sidewalks on the south side of Breithaupt and the east side of Waterloo closed for approximately two months
On-going Construction
- Work to excavate under the new bridge
- Work to install underground electrical and communication conduits on Breithaupt, from King to Waterloo, and on Waterloo, south of Breithaupt
- Upgrading and relocation of underground utilities (i.e. water, storm and sanitary) and installation of the communication duct bank from the newly constructed bridge to Victoria, and from Moore to Wellington
- Third party utility (i.e. Bell, Rogers, Telus, and Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro) work at the newly constructed bridge and on Waterloo
Work on the Northbound Central Station-Innovation District ION stops at the King Street Grade Separation
