It is with heavy hearts that we share that the incident involving an ION train in front of Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School (KCI) this afternoon injured a student who attends our school. They were airlifted to Hamilton with serious injuries.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and educators who know and care for this student,” said Dennis Haid, Principal of KCI. “We are hopeful for their swift recovery and are grateful for the emergency personnel who came to their aid.”

We know that this news will cause many in our KCI community added distress and worry. Members of the trauma response team will be at our school tomorrow to provide support to staff and students who would like to speak with them.
