We are experiencing bicycle theft at KCI.  As a result, we have contacted Waterloo Region Police Services and they have provided us with some best practice tips to help avoid such incidents.

Police are encouraging students to protect their bicycles and help police recover their bike if it’s stolen.

SNAP’N SAVE Two Photos –

• You with your bike
• Your bike’s serial number

Remember –

• Store your bike in a well lit public location, preferably with video cameras
• Lock the wheels to the frame and both to a secure object.  Use a U-lock style kryptonite lock.
• At KCI use the bike lock-up caged in area by the Green street parking lot.  This area will be locked daily at 8:20 and re-opened again at the end of the day.
