Greetings from KCI!  As Semester 2 officially starts this Friday, February 2, we wanted to provide you with an update to support students’ smooth transition into their second semester at KCI.

Student Timetables

Student timetables were sent to their WRDSB Gmail accounts on December 18 & 19.  If students missed the email, they should search for an email from our secretary, Shelly Schmidt.  If students have questions about their timetable, we encourage them to book a Guidance appointment.

First Day of School Schedule

The first day of semester 2 this year will be Friday, February 2!  All students should report to their first period class.  Vice Principals and Supervision Monitors will be in the foyer (main lobby) area of the school to assist students who don’t know what their first period class is.

It is a ‘Week 2’ schedule for Friday, February 2…

  • 8:20 – 9:35 [Block A]
  • 9:40 – 10:55 [Block B]
  • 10:55 – 11:55 [Lunch]
  • 11:55 – 1:10 [Block D]
  • 1:15 – 2:30 [Block C]

*Continuing* This Year – Week 1 & Week 2 Semester Schedule

All WRDSB secondary schools will be continuing a ‘Week 1’ and ‘Week 2’ alternating schedule this year.  What does this mean?  Afternoon classes will follow the ‘A, B, Lunch, C, D’ pattern (last period will be period D on the student timetable) during Week 1, then follow the ‘A, B, Lunch, D, C’ pattern (last period each day will be period C on the student timetable) during week 2.  The alternating Week 1/Week 2 pattern will repeat throughout the semester.  When semester two starts, it will follow the same pattern for semester two courses.

You’ll note that on our KCI Daily Schedule and our KCI School Year Calendar Week 1 is colour coded in red, and Week 2 is colour coded in yellow.

Locker Distribution

If students wish to obtain a locker on the first day of semester 2, they must bring a combination lock to school with them and request a locker at the main office.  Keyed locks are not permitted.  Students are not permitted to share lockers.  There will be a limited amount of locks available for purchase in the main office.

Activity Fees Available on School-Day

All activity fees should be paid on School-Day; however, students needing to pay cash should see our Activities Secretary, Ms. Poulin, in the main office to make payment.

  • KCI Activity Fee ($40) – MUST be paid for all students planning to join a team, club, or attend an event or school dance at KCI.
