Grade 10
Media: Telecommunications, Video and Animation – TGJ 2OI / 2OB
A project based introduction to the various media and computer technologies that impact us today. Explore Photography, Graphic Design, Audio and Music production, Animation, Video and Web design.
Computer Functions & Introductory Robotics – TEJ 2OI
This is a foundation course, preparing students for senior courses in manufacturing (Machine shop or electrical automation emphasis).
Residential Construction & Woodworking – TCJ 2OI / 2OB
Focuses on homes and home repair. All of the trades involved with the housing industry are covered, including: masonry, framing, drywall, mudding, painting, interior design, tiling, roofing, real estate, alternate energies, plumbing, electrical, HVACR and landscaping.
Gardening & Landscape Construction – THJ 2OI / 2OB
Students are introduced to various sectors of the Green Industries – agriculture, forestry, horticulture, floristry, and landscaping. Students participate in a number of hands-on activities (maintenance, patio construction, planting and harvesting, and floral design) and develop an awareness of environmental and societal issues related to green industry activities.
Hairstyling & Aesthetics – TXJ 2OI / 2OB
Hairstyling enhances real experience through activity participation, practicing current techniques, and the use of professional equipment and terminology related to the hairstyling and aesthetics industry.
Food Preparation – TFJ 2OI / 2OB
Welding & Precision Machining-Creative Designs – TMJ 2OI
This is a foundation course, preparing students for senior courses in manufacturing (Machine shop or electrical automation emphasis).
Architectural and Engineering Designs CAD – TDJ 2OI
This is a foundation course to prepare students for senior courses in technological design. This Includes design solutions and processes of products through modeling CAD and manual drafting projects.
Automotive Service & Repair – TTJ 2OI / 2OB
Learn how to service & repair your car, motorcycle, snowmobile, ATV, watercraft and more. Have fun and save money on expense repair bills by doing-it-yourself in the hands-on grade 10, 11 & 12 Transportation Technology courses.
Grade 11
Media: Telecommunications, Video and Animation – TGJ 3MI / 3OB
An in depth exploration which builds on the grade 10 TGJ course, but delves deeper into project challenges and real world scenarios in computer technology.
Integrated Circuits / Fundamentals of Robotics – TEJ 3MI / 3EI
This course examines computer systems and control of external devices. Students will assemble computers and small networks by installing and configuring appropriate hardware and software. Students will develop knowledge and skills in electronics, robotics, programming, and networks, and will build systems that use computer programs and interfaces to control and/or respond to external devices. Students will develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will learn about college and university programs leading to careers in computer technology.

Students develop knowledge and skills related to agriculture, forestry, horticulture, and landscaping. Students study plant identification, management of plants and livestock (chickens). Students will also examine safe and healthy working practices, industry standards and codes, and post secondary education and career opportunities.

This course includes engineering design challenges in architecture and mechanical products, CAD designs, and sketch techniques.

Grade 12
Media: Communication, Video and Animation – TGJ 4OI / 4OB / 4MI
A self directed deep dive into several selected media types centred around a central client challenge. Work independently or with a partner and build a portfolio of work that will prepare you for next steps in many communications fields.

This course extends students’ understanding of computer systems and computer interfacing with external devices. Students will assemble computer systems by installing and configuring appropriate hardware and software, and will learn more about fundamental concepts of electronics, robotics, programming, and networks. Students will examine related environmental and societal issues, and will explore postsecondary pathways leading to careers in computer technology.

Students build on knowledge developed in grade 11 Green Industries. The focus is more complex and relates to processes, design, and environmental sustainabilty. Skills learned will prepare students for specialization within the industry.
Hairstyling & Aesthetics – TXJ 4EI / 4EB
Students of K.C.I. Cosmetology participate in numerous experiential learning activities such as theme school spirit days, school fundraising initiatives, community programs such as maniCure for cancer, outreach with our neighbouring St. Marks’ church as well as the provincial competition Skills Ontario.

This course focuses on using machines such as CNC mills, metal lathes, and welding equipment. There is also design componnent in the course.

This course includes engineering design challenges in architecture and mechanical products including 2D and 3D environments.
